Singing for Freedom: 50 Years Since Selma
The spirituals served as the "soundtrack of a revolution" when they were revived as "freedom songs" for the American Civil Rights movement. The Spirituals Project Choir celebrates the 50th anniversary of the pivotal Voting Rights campaign in Selma, Alabama, and the passage of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. Special guests for this event will include Parker area community partners. Join us in celebrating our shared past, present, and future. Featuring Jonny 5 of the Flobots and the Quickened Dancers.
